German Learning Tips

You'll notice that many German words have accent marks, which help you properly pronounce words. Sometimes an accent distinguishes one word from another that is identical except for the mark.
There are two categories of German nouns: masculine and feminine.
You may notice that some letters are rarely pronounced at the end of a word. For example the ending -e, -es, or -ent in these words: la fille mange; les filles mangent. Rosetta Stone language learning software helps you learn the exceptions to this rule through guided exposure and practice.
Depending on how they're categorized, German adjectives appear before or after nouns in the word order.
